Mosaic J – Cross of U-Shapes Mosaic

The composition of this floor – a cross made from four U-shapes, here in the form of garlands of laurel leaves – is characteristic of Middle East mosaics. This depiction of an arbour, reduced to a decorative element, delimits four archways in which water flows from four identical vases. Four square panels complete the composition, and are filled with geometrically-patterned grids.
